Gait Analysis
A gait analysis determines biomechanical faults in an athlete during walking and running. It involves a video taping session to observe abnormal or excessive movement patterns. Videotaping is done from the front, side and rear in order to get a complete picture of how an athlete walks and runs.
This video is combined with a thorough patient history and physical assessment to provide a comprehensive analysis of the athletes gait and identify associated movement restrictions and weaknesses.
In order obtain adequate information two appointments are required. The first visit involves an in-depth physical assessment and a video taping session of you walking and running. The second visit will provide you with a detailed report, addressing your individual restrictions and weaknesses. This report will provide specific strategies for treatment and exercise geared to restore normal movement, rehabilitate current injury and help prevent future injury.
Following the strategies in the report will help you work, play & perform at your best.
